Dwellworks at WERC APAC25 Shaping the Future of Asia Pacific Mobility

Dwellworks Living Stands Out at GBTA’s APAC 2025 Event in Singapore

In May 2025, Dwellworks Living joined the Global Business Travel Association Asia Pacific 2025 Conference in Singapore, an essential gathering of over 260 corporate travel buyers, suppliers, and global mobility leaders focused on shaping the future of business travel in the region and around the world. For the third year in a row, the GBTA conference was successfully co-located with the APAC regional global mobility summit hosted by WERC.

Drawing more than 900 business travel and global mobility professionals to the two conferences in total and with a dynamic agenda, this year’s GBTA APAC event served as a powerful platform to share innovations, exchange insights, and reaffirm the critical role of accommodations in strategic travel management. Within the conference setting, Dwellworks Living hosted multiple client, prospective client, and portfolio partner meetings affirming our status as a trusted partner and subject matter expert in temporary living solutions across the Asia Pacific region.

Short Term Concerns, Long Term Opportunity

The global business travel outlook for 2025 began with expectations of double-digit growth as travel managers responded to a stabilizing global economy and increased business expectations for investment and expansion. Per GBTA’s estimates, the APAC region was predicted to capture 41% of an estimated total $1.638 trillion global travel spend in 2025.

By the end of the first quarter of 2025, those expectations had been reset based on global trade wars and renewed economic and geopolitical instability. Even with those headwinds, the collective GDP of the APAC region is expected to grow by over 4% this year, a significantly stronger growth number than is expected in either the US or the EU.

A generally positive outlook characterized the GBTA APAC 2025 Conference. As GBTA CEO Suzanne Neufang noted in her comments, travel planners in Asia Pacific have the most optimistic outlook for growth of any of the world’s core regional economies and are confident that once economic turbulence is under control, the region will continue to thrive as the world’s most important business travel destination.

The Value of Strategic Housing in Business Travel

As companies across APAC continue to grow, expand, and mobilize talent, the need for high-quality, cost-sensitive, and flexible housing solutions has never been greater. Throughout the GBTA Asia Pacific 2025 Conference, the Dwellworks Living team engaged with procurement professionals and travel program leaders to explore how temporary living can support core business objectives, including:

  • Duty of care for relocating employees, business travelers, and project teams
  • Occupancy efficiency and team building through housing density
  • Cost optimization through volume leveraged pricing and data-driven planning
  • Enhanced traveler experiences with trusted local providers and in-market experts

In today’s environment, where agility, transparency, and compliance are key, temporary living and extended stays are about more than cost and logistics. The bar is raised, with expectations to deliver accommodations that contribute to the traveler’s success and the value of the business.

Aligning with Travel Priorities in Asia Pacific

A focus on the global economy was understandably front and center in many of the leadership sessions at GBTA’s APAC conference. But other voices made it clear that, regardless of a disruptive political environment, their organizations were committed to investments and infrastructure and when it comes to travel, ‘we have to act.’

From a keynote speech by Dr. Deborah Elms of Singapore’s prestigious Heinrich Foundation, through to a lively conversation with GBTA leadership and regional pacesetters in global travel management, to areas of topical interest including:

  • Transportation
  • The rise (and risks) of blesiure travel
  • New payments and technology trends
  • Sustainability
  • Multicultural training and awareness
  • New expectations for the customer experience
  • and the cleverly named, “AI-tinerary”

The two days of sessions enriched the conversations and observations in the corridors and the exhibit space of over 50 travel services specialists. Dwellworks was an exhibitor at the WERC APAC 25 event, and the two conferences shared a cross-over exhibition space, further enabling dialogue and affirming the shared interests of global mobility and global travel, especially around accommodations solutions for extended business travel and corporate relocation assignments.

Leadership Representation in the APAC Market

Representing Dwellworks Living at GBTA Asia Pacific 2025 were three experienced leaders from our Asia Pacific team:

  • Dima Lorenz, Vice President, Account Management | APAC
  • Stuart Giam, Director, Client Services | APAC
  • Dawn Brandenburg, Director of Sales | APAC and Pacific Rim

Each brought unique insights and on-the-ground expertise to conversations with both newly onboarded and long-standing clients. Their engagements highlighted Dwellworks Living’s ability to solve complex travel housing challenges across multiple geographies and corporate travel scenarios from long-term assignments to VIP moves to intern/group project cohorts.

Whether discussing emerging sourcing models in Singapore, compliance requirements and the essential value of fapaio in China, or serviced apartment availability in Tokyo, our team delivered value through deep market knowledge and a commitment to partnership. In addition, Dima Lorez led a mainstage panel at WERC APAC 25 on ‘Shaping the Future of Mobility in Asia Pacific.” Read his recap of the session here.

As Dawn Brandenburg succinctly noted, in a post picked up by GBTA, “[the event was about] bringing together the business travel and mobility community again to network, learn from the industry experts, and benefit from peer-to-peer education.”

Stuart Giam, an experienced hotel management professional who now oversees Dwellworks and Dwellworks Living client relationships in the region, commented on the warm welcome our team received from clients and portfolio partners: “We are clearly recognized as one of the leading and largest temporary living solutions providers in the regional market.”

Our team members noted the increase in conference attendees and the rising significance of the GBTA APAC Conference as a must-attend event for global travel professionals.
